Purchasing & Downloads
What do I receive when I purchase a case?
You’ll receive instant access to downloadable PDF files containing everything you need: case files, evidence documents, character profiles, clue cards, host instructions, and the complete solution. Simply download, print at home, and you’re ready to play.
How do I access my files after purchase?
Immediately after purchase, you’ll receive an email with download links. You can also access your files anytime by logging into your account and visiting the “Downloads” section. Each purchase includes up to 5 downloads.
Can I re-download my files if I lose them?
Yes! As long as you haven’t exceeded your download limit (5 downloads per purchase), you can re-download your files from your account at any time.
Do you offer refunds?
Due to the digital nature of our products, we cannot offer refunds once files have been downloaded. If you experience any technical issues with your purchase, please contact us and we’ll do our best to help.
Playing the Games
How long does a typical case take to play?
Most cases take between 1-3 hours depending on the difficulty level and how thorough your group is. Each case listing includes an estimated duration to help you plan. Beginners typically take a bit longer, and that’s perfectly fine!
How many people can play?
Each case specifies a recommended player count. Most work well with 2-8 players, though some are designed for larger groups or solo play. Check the “Players” tag on each case for specifics.
Can I play a case more than once?
Once you know the solution, replay value is limited for you personally. However, you can absolutely host the same case for different groups of friends or family—many customers run the same case multiple times for different game nights!
What if we get stuck?
Every case includes a hint system with sealed hints you can open if needed. The host instructions also include guidance on when and how to provide nudges without giving away the solution.
Do we need a “host” or can everyone play?
It depends on the case. Some cases are designed so everyone can participate equally, while others work best with a designated host who knows the solution. Each listing clearly indicates the recommended setup.
Printing & Setup
What equipment do I need?
Just a printer and paper! We recommend standard letter (US) or A4 (international) paper. Some cases look enhanced in color, but black and white works perfectly for all our mysteries.
Is color printing required?
No. While color printing enhances the visual experience, every case is designed to be fully playable when printed in black and white. All crucial information remains clear and legible.
How much paper will I need?
Most cases require 15-30 pages of printing. The exact page count is listed in each case description so you can prepare accordingly.
How long does setup take?
About 10-15 minutes. This includes printing the materials, a quick review of the instructions, and arranging the evidence. We’ve designed everything to be as straightforward as possible.
Occasions & Gifting
Which case is best for beginners?
Look for cases marked “Easy” difficulty. These feature more straightforward clue connections and are perfect for first-time players. Our themed collections (like Date Night or Family) are also designed with accessibility in mind.
Can I buy a case as a gift?
Absolutely! After purchase, you can forward the download email to your recipient, or print the materials yourself and present them as a physical gift. Some customers create gift packages with the printed case, snacks, and themed decorations.
Are your cases appropriate for children?
Check the “Age Group” tag on each case. We offer mysteries specifically designed for kids (8-12), teens (13-17), and families. Adult-only cases are clearly marked and involve more mature themes (nothing explicit—think classic noir rather than graphic content).
